Rising HR demand expected in the UK
The level of demand for HR services among small businesses in the UK is expected to rise dramatically over the course of this year, according to a new survey that has just been conducted.
This survey indicates that 80% of small companies are going to need the support of HR during 2025. Among the reasons for that situation are an increase in the number of redundancies and the need to help those employees who will stay with their companies. The survey was carried out by the HR Dept, one of the biggest HR consultancies in the country.
Over 390 people from within the industry took part in it and the results clearly show that they are expecting an HR boom between now and the end of the year. 8 out of every 10 small companies are planning to bring in outside HR assistance. 49% of them stated that this would be to help with employee wellbeing, while 22% said that it would be about legal and compliance matters.
In the majority of cases, this will mean using an outsourced HR consultancy. That is because most small companies cannot afford their own internal HR departments.
Speaking to The HR Director, Stacey Mead from The HR Dept said:
“The increased demand for HR support in areas such as developing employee wellbeing policies suggests that small business owners are considering both their current and long-term people needs.”
She then went on to add that looking after their employees in this way would be beneficial to these businesses, as it would help them keep employees.
