HR professionals cite employee engagement as priority
The biggest priority this year for a significant number of HR professionals is to find ways of boosting employee engagement levels, according to a new survey that has just been published.
This was cited as the main focus by 31% of them, which adds up to nearly one third. When it comes to how they plan to do so, many said that improving the employee benefits package offered by their company was a key part of their strategy. Among the options for that which are being considered are the introduction of salary sacrifice car schemes.
They are schemes where workers agree to have their salary before tax reduced, so that they can get a company car in exchange. A total of 43% of the HR professionals surveyed for the report called ‘Driving loyalty through electric cars’ said that they had such a scheme in mind.
Tusker is the company behind the report, and it offers schemes of that kind. Speaking to Employee Benefits, Cheryl Clements from Tusker said:
“Salary sacrifice car schemes, particularly those that offer EVs, are increasingly being seen as a cost-effective way to deliver value to both employers and employees.”
Implementing a scheme of this sort can involve a radical overhaul for companies and HR departments sometimes need outside help with that. This is where outsourced HR change management services can be useful.
Not all of the professionals that took part in the survey named engagement as the top priority though. For 20% of HR professionals, it was supporting their companies in hiring the right people.
