CEOs optimistic about business prospects

A new poll of CEOs in the UK has found that the levels of optimism among them are growing, even in the wake of economic and political turbulence.

The CEO Outlook Survey is the poll in question and its results make for interesting reading. 100 people in charge of companies took part in the survey, which measures overall positivity levels as well as plans for the future. In total, 82% of them said that they were either somewhat or highly positive about the upcoming year. That is a significant rise compared with the figure for last autumn, which was 67%.

When it comes to the various aspects of the companies they lead, the picture looks similarly rosy. 80% of the CEOs that took part in the survey said that they felt positive about the profitability of their businesses this year. A further 78% indicated that they expect revenues to rise during the year, while 77% are optimistic about the competitiveness of their companies.

Something else that the survey uncovered is that many CEOs have ambitions to change their companies in 2025. Boosting productivity and using digitisation to improve overall efficiency was cited by 43% of them. 45% said they want to do better in terms of winning and retaining customers.

However, 19% told the survey that changing their companies was taking too long at the moment. Some of them may decide to bring in culture change consulting services to help speed up this process.

Increasing sustainability was another change that respondents named as crucial, with 43% citing it.
