Hiring managers struggling to find the right people
The latest research has found the majority of hiring managers are struggling to find the right people to fill job vacancies, with some turning to AI.
This finding is based on data released by the business social media platform LinkedIn. What the platform’s data shows is that close to eight out of every 10 hiring managers are finding the process of securing the best talent more difficult. Another 41% of them told LinkedIn the number of vacancies their companies had was small, but that they were under a lot of pressure to recruit for them.
When it comes to dealing with that pressure, the data indicates that more of them are embracing technology. Around 38% stated they were using AI to find candidates with different skills.
Although this is a good thing, not all companies will have access to AI technologies to help with recruitment. This is particularly true for small firms. One possibility would be for them to outsource recruitment to HR services in Bedfordshire. Specialist consultancies usually have the latest technologies and staff with the skills to exploit them.
LinkedIn UK head Janine Chamberlin told Personnel Today that:
“Businesses need to invest in tools that will help their hiring teams see the full talent pool – not just obvious candidates – and move away from hiring based on traditional credentials towards one based on skills, capability and potential.”
That sort of transition will need the support of HR, whether it is outsourced on in-house. It can provide the information necessary to identify such candidates.
